Nayaka Farrell (b. 2005) is an Indonesian composer currently studying music composition at Universitas Pelita Harapan under the guidance of Stevie Jonathan Sutanto. He began his musical journey with classical guitar at an early age, but his artistic practice has since branched into electroacoustic music, installation, and contemporary music. His current practice explores the relationship between the familiar and the unfamiliar, as well as the distance between them, through experimentation, critical reflection, and interdisciplinary inquiry. Working across acoustic and electronic, he approaches sound as a reflective and perceptual experience shaped by context, memory, temporality, and technological mediation. His work mostly performed in jakarta and Yogyakarta, some of his work also has been selected or performed in an international context such as at ICMC, Hamburg; Cycle II: Take-Off, Portugal; Dundee Radio 2026 Listening Festival; And radiophernia broadcast, Glasgow. He is currently a composer in residence in the concordia community orchestra in jakarta and assistant for composer and Phd candidate, Dion Nataraja.
