Kornphol Chanthasakuldech is a Thai composer, marimbist, and percussionist currently studying Bachelor of Arts in Percussion Performance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Alongside his performance career, he is active as a composer and arranger. Inspired by film music, he began studying composition and music arrangement under Ms. Pinchanan Jaiprasong when he was studying in YAMP (Young Artist Music Program). He has been part of the music arranging team for the TPO Pop and the 18th and 19th PC Concerts. His arrangements of classical works have been performed in Vienna, China and Thailand. His compositional interests include concert music, film soundtracks, and expanding the marimba repertoire through original compositions and cross-genre collaborations. As a performer, Kornphol performs with Violimba (violin and marimba), where he has premiered original works including Lagudua and The Elephant of Siam. In 2025, he performed his own arrangement of J.S. Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, BWV 1052 for two marimbas and orchestra as part of the “Bach?” Project. He has also performed with the Thai Symphony Orchestra and Siam Sinfonietta.
